Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 550 at its Windows 10 event in October this year along with the Lumia 950 and 950 XL flagships. Now, soon afterlaunching the Lumia 950 and its bigger sibling, the brand has launched the Lumia 550 in India. It is a budget 4G LTE-enabled smartphone that’s among the first to run Windows 10 out-of-the-box.
The Lumia 550 features a 4.7-inch HD AMOLED display with a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top. The phone has a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor ticking under the hood, coupled with 1GB of RAM. For storage, the device gets 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 200GB by inserting a microSD card.
For imaging, the Lumia 550 offers a 5-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash, and a 2-megapixel secondary snapper. In terms of connectivity, the phone gets 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is backed by a 2,100mAh battery, which delivers up to 14 hours of talk time and 672 hours of standby time on 3G networks. In addition to running Windows 10, the device also comes with several other software features like Glance screen, Cortana, and more.
The Microsoft Lumia 550 has been priced at Rs 9,399, and comes in white and black. The phone will go on sale across channels starting next week.
