Microsoft’s Cortana voice assistant officially out on Android and iOS

Microsoft recently launched its personal voice assistant, Cortana for Windows 10 in India. And now the brand has launched the same for Android and iOS platforms as well. The company had been testing the feature for these platforms for a while after the first announcement in May this year. The app is now available to download for free on Google Play and the App Store.

Cortana for Android iOS

As per the official description of Cortana on Android and iOS, it lets you set and get location and time reminders across your computer and phone. It allows getting notifications and lets you reply to texts from your PC if you miss a call on your phone. The app lets you track packages, flights, scores, stocks, and more. It also offers Cortana’s Notebook to view, edit and manage your interests. With Cortana, you can get information and answers to questions via Bing search, and more.

Although the Cortana app for iOS and Android is full-fledged, there are some tasks that it can’t perform that you can do on Windows phones. The limited functionality also includes the ability to invoke Cortana hands-free by saying“Hey Cortana”. The company said that the Phone Companion app on your Windows 10 computer will help you install Cortana from Google Play or Apple App Store onto your smartphones.
